the fires of the city

the fires of the city the flames were the touch of your fingers on my flesh a dagger of pleasure plunging deep into the darkness and bringing light showered the landscape with new sensations
nothings sings the forest nothing brings the voice of darkness to the ears of light eyes a soft silence forsaken in the tress i traveled so far to find this place and i dont know where i am yet i find myself through myself but who am i to know
there's an empty i sought to fill a ghost i wished to lay to rest a grave solemnety should have closed the eyes upon sight unseen and never again the way it rolls across this waste land wasted barren without the light of two eyes that saw through me
along the old highway i cry my lonesome loss i sing my blue sorrow song whisper the worth i found in one and no other
